Night of Worship
I play drums at Lord of Life Lutheran church once or twice a month. I play morning worship, and in their monthly Night of Worship. I had the idea to record and produce a live album using one a Night of Worship. I approached the director of worship, Heather, and she loved the idea. The church approved the project later that week.
I brought in my friend Dan Gable of Smoking Elephant Studios to take care of the technical aspect of the recording. He brought his Alesis HD24 digital multi-track, and we took the signal directly from the church's sound board. With every vocal and instrument on it's own track, we had the ability to do a serious mix down of the service. In the end, we used eleven out of the twelve songs we played. We released the album with out doing any over-dubs in an effort to be 100% pure.
